This is a part two response in a poetic version on the state of poetry by Michael Marrotti. Read & Njoy
Contemporary Poetry
It’s a digital
playground
of unworthy
abstract
artists
Desperate
smiles and
poetry that
owns no merit
Who can write
in volume
the most
forgettable
amount of
poems
It’s a race
to be first
and nobody
is watching
The audience is
the competition
Both are stuck
on the same stanza
Write your boring
little heart out
Write like you
actually have
something to say
If your writing
meets the standards
of contemporary
poetry
You’ll be awarded
a friend request
on Facebook
by some other
guy with an
equally small penis
waiting to praise
your boring poetry
in the hopes that
you’ll do the same
Michael Marrotti is an author from Pittsburgh using words instead of violence to mitigate the suffering of life in a callous world of redundancy. His primary goal is to help other people. He considers poetry to be a form of philanthropy. When he’s not writing, he’s volunteering at the Light Of Life homeless shelter on a weekly basis. If you appreciate the man’s work, please check out his blog:www.thoughtsofapoeticmind.blogspot.com for his latest poetry and short stories.

Then you misinterpreted the poem. It’s not about homosexuality in any form or fashion. The poem is about the mentality of some of the contemporary poets and how their behavior influences the current development of poetry and relative associations that arise from it.
